This Little Goes A Long Way

t wasn’t so much a moment as a gradual realisation for Vicky Noble and Danielle Murphy that there were two peas in a pod.

Both tailored their sustainably-sourced, eco-friendly and really very cool goodies for children, and both felt ready to progress from Kilruddery and beyond.

Having regularly set up their stalls side-by-side at markets all across Wicklow, Vicky’s wooden toy hire Dlulukaloo and Danielle’s children’s clothes boutique Pom Pom Pirate were getting far too big for being just online.

And so it made perfect sense for these two buddies to go find a sweet little pod of their own right here in Greystones.

Besides, nothing quite beats holding something you crave in the palm of your hand, so you know it’s every bit as groovy as you’d hoped. Just ask any kid.

“We definitely find that people are far, far happier when they can literally try something on for size first,” says Danielle. “And that goes not only for clothes but toys, books, go-carts, everything here…”

“That’s something I’ve always believed in,” nods Vicky. “With Dlulukaloo, the whole idea was that you rented whatever wooden toy you reckoned your child would love, and then you had the choice of simply returning it  or, if it proved to be a big hit, just paying a balance and keeping it…”

We should point out at this stage that we’re actually in the pod that these two peas had been searching for over the past year, The Little Emporium sitting very pretty in the Greystones Shopping Centre, just a scone’s throw from Enso and their mouth-watering, hip-shaking, couch-quaking and, hey, award-winning pizzas.
