Noticing his fine photography and his good community work online, we realised quite some time ago that Eoin O’Mahony was an obvious choice for our weekly My Greystones column.
The man lives and breathes this town. Heck, he even set up a service to help lost objects be reunited with their owners around Greystones.
It was only after we’d taken Eoin’s headshot with our trademark heart-shaped grey stone (geddit?) that we came to the realisation that we knew sweet feck all about the man. Other than the fact that he’s married to the lovely Ciara Kelly, a Greystones lifer. And, er, that was it. Besides the cross-dressing. And the cock fighting.
So, we had to do a little research – something we’re normally far too lazy around here to do. Which basically involved asking Eoin to tell us a little bit about himself. As you can see from his answer, the man is also a poet. Even if he doesn’t know it. Oh, and if you’re interested in seeing Eoin’s photography on Facebook, click here. And his Greystones Pop-Up Gallery page is right here.
Came to Greystones first for my communion dinner in the La Touche… Puked on the croquet lawn.
Went out with a Greystonian (that doctor wan from the telly) and loved the place. The Wild Colonials on a bank holiday weekend.. yer only man!
Find out how that doc from the telly feels about her hometown right here.
