As the Irish Restaurant Awards swept across the country last night to find the very best in Ireland’s eateries, naturally, Greystones popped up on the winners podium.

Yep, the bould Sunil Ghai was the very proud winner of the Best Kids Size Me for Leinster, his Charlesland takeaway, Tiffin, having hit that gong in March’s regionals too.

Other local heroes from that Leinster finals – such as The Happy Pear and The Firehouse Bakery – may have been pipped at the post last night, but, nay bother. They’re all still the beans & toast of the town nonetheless.

The two other big winners from around these parts were Bray’s Pink Salt Indian Restaurant, which bagged Best World Cuisine, whilst Wicklow’s Lily’s On Church Street bagged Best Newcomer.

The winner of the Best Restaurant 2019 went to Galway’s Loam, whilst Pub Of The Year went to Doheny & Nesbitt in Dublin.
