aking the leap from online to the real world can be a major one.
So it makes perfect sense if you can find someone to hold your hand.
When it came to local businesses Lilypad Home Accessories and Lalli & Moo Lifestyle Accessories, the two took that leap together in September, setting up shop – literally – in Prospect House on Church Street, Wicklow Town.
Cleverly calling their joint venture Canopy, the duo are now also setting up a pop-up Christmas shop at Ireton’s in sunny Greystones.
Here’s the lowdown on their cunning coming together…
With both Lilypad and Lalli & Boo having enjoyed great success with their respective online stores, the two Greystones accessories outlets will now bring their beautiful range of products to customers in person.
Lilypad Home Accessories sells home interior products such as battery-operated lamps, cushions, remote control candles and styling items, founder Gillian Rijke having been inspired when clearing out her recently-deceased aunt’s home. Time was precious, and Gillian decided to turn her life around, leaving her job as a HR consultant to finally start her dream shop. With four young sons, this new home venture allowed Gillian to create a work-life balance that so many working parents crave, and to indulge her passion for interiors. The name Lilypad was chosen as a tribute to her late Aunt Eithne, who had lily pads in her garden pond.
Lalli & Moo sell a beautiful range of genuine Italian leather handbags, jewellery, scarves and an array of different fashion accessories. All of their handbags are sourced directly from Italy whilst the accessories hail from France. The owner of Lalli & Moo accessories Sarah Conden set up her business (the quirky name being the nicknames of her two daughters, Maggie & Laila) mid-pandemic after toying with the idea of having her own business for years.
In December last year , they set up a pop-up shop for Christmas in their hometown of Greystones. The shop proved to be a great success, which is what encouraged Gillian and Sarah to consider a more permanent retail space.
So, encouraged by their Wicklow Town success, the duo naturally wanted to repeat that Christmas magic this year, setting up in Ireton’s beside Nature’s Gold once again.
Boom! Becoming the town’s very own little Christmas shop around the corner once again.
Open Tuesday to Saturday 10.30am to 5.30pm and Sunday 12pm to 5pm, you can find the dynamic duo in Greystones right about here, and find out more about Lily Pad here and Lalli & Boo right here.
