Young Ger Kennedy has been on the blower about not one but two open water swimming challenges for Greystonians and beyond.
The pitch may read as though it was hatched at around 3.30am, so, this could be legit, or just lit.
Over to Ger…
Notorious Greystones chancer Cormac McKenna has created two open water swimming challenges on the east coast of Ireland, with Greystones as a regular starting and finishing point. Cormac has swam long distance all over Ireland and around the globe, including in the US, where he completed a 47km swim around Manhattan.

Cormac would love to see local and countrywide open water swimmers take up this challenge and show off our beautiful coastline – whilst wearing the coveted t-shirt pictured, which comes with in-built pride and a lifetime guarantee of bragging rights.
With advice from local swimmer Ger Kennedy and Iron Man cheater Damien McKeever, the chosen routes and titles where hatched. Some basic rules: swimmers can only wear traditional togs, one cap and goggles. No neoprene suits or hats, gloves or boots.
At present there is only 3 swimmers who have completed the Greystones Open Water Swimming Grand Slam – Ger Kennedy, Cormac McKenna and Jan Vitek. There are only 4 swimmers who have completed the Epic Greystones Open Water Swimming Triple Crown – all of the above, plus runt of the litter, Damien.
