When Zyah Conroy got in touch this afternoon to say that Westlife were hanging out down in Tesco’s lobby, well, we were a little sceptical.
And then Zyah sent in a pic of Nicky Byrne standing just behind herself and buddy Zoe Neary.
We were almost convinced. The way Nicky is standing, with ne’er a hair out of place and that Photoshopped smile, well, this could quite easily be a cardboard cut-out of the Dancing With The Nearly Stars smoothie.
It was only when Gunther Starke posted a shot of his happy ma in a Westlife sandwich that we knew, yikes, half of Westlife are hanging out in the lobby of Tesco today.
At first, we reckoned they must be there in the hope of meeting the legendary Liam ‘White Socks’ Byrne. But then, the bould Gillian from Tesco told us that they simply took a few snaps on the photobooth, and then hit the road, Jack.
What. The. Frick?
Unless Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan are currently barred from their local Tescos, we reckon this just might have something to do with Westlife’s upcoming 20-date reunion tour around the country. And the need to sell a few tickets.
And what better way than spreading the word these days than a little viral action, popping up on thousands of social media shares, and all for the price of simply turning up for a few minutes of kissing hands andshaking babies.
And posing for those all-important selfies, of course.
