Vantage Get Their Mast

Don’t go back to Rockfield…

ot even Google seems to be sure who or what Rockfield actually is, which might be a big part of the reason it was chosen as latest site by Vantage Towers Ltd for a new telecoms mast.

As expected, this same company got the thumbs down last month for their proposed 21m mast in The Wicklow Arms car park, so, a Plan B was always wise.

And so it has proven, with Wicklow Planning giving the green light to a 24m communications mast at Rockfield.

The mast in question is ‘a 24m-high monopole structure’, with ‘antennas, dishes and associated telecommunications equipment all enclosed by security fencing together with access track‘ also part of the planning application.

The owner of this particular slice of Priestnewtown land is Grattan Evans, the Evans family of Farrankelly House having acquired the now-derelict 1800s Rockfield House some years back.

Sure agus begorrah, it’s a small world around here.
