Women’s Shed Open For Shenanigans

North Wicklow Women’s Shed (NWWS) already boasts 1,800 Facebook followers and now can celebrate welcoming 40 women to its first morning event on Thursday 28th September 2023.

Chair of NWWS Committee, Orla Finn, stated, “After months of hard work from our volunteer committee, we were excited but also a little nervous about opening. We were delighted to see so many women come along this morning to join our group, many on their own but not for long, as conversations were free flowing, as everyone enjoyed an old-fashioned natter and a chat over a cup of tea and biscuits.”

NWWS will cater for a range of activities from arts, crafts, yoga, well-being, mental health, topical speakers, women’s health to name a few. Mostly though, it is a safe space for women of all backgrounds from across North Wicklow to come together, just for an hour or two, have a chat over a cup of tea, and then in between, do some activities.

The committee for the North Wicklow Women’s Shed – made up by Orla Finn, Aileen Richardson Mac Carthy, Elaine Casey, Laura Costello, Noelia O’Reilly, Sinead Merrigan, Rebecca Molloy, Teresa Mulvaney and Anita Tuesley – look forward to welcoming women from across our community to come along. Whether on your own or with a friend, all are welcome and as we embrace our values of empowerment, inclusivity, friendship, respect and fun.
