t’s always a big moment in a person’s life, when they finally walk out those school gates for the very last time.
For the 6th year students at St David’s, that moment came today.
At least, officially, as the swanky new sports hall played host to the St David’s 6th Year Graduation Ceremony.
Inevitably, there were tears, and even the odd sob or two, but finally, after much comforting and coercing, Principal Simon Carey pulled himself back together and addressed the students.
Who, to be fair, were also feeling somewhat emotional with the big day that was in it. And being cool teenagers, they hid those sentimental feelings in check by being loud, funny and sarcastic.
Hey, like the Guide.
Well done to everyone involved on a magical day, and to young John McGowan for capturing itall.
Here’s to a wild and wonderful future for each and everyone of today’s students. But especially the ones who don’t bail on us…
