t’s been a bit of a madhouse for James and Victoria as they set about opening their new two-in-one Greystones eatery.

Taking over the little Bushfield House sidecar that has housed the likes of Mooch and Sonny’s pizzeria, it was All Systems Go Nuts this week as they prepared for Friday’s official debut.

And then two masked scumbags attempted a little crime spree through the town last Sunday, leaving the couple with a lot of broken glass and one extra pain in the ass.

So, it’s perhaps understandable that the ice was still being dotted and the teas still bossed when we swung by for some pics this morning.

“We’re trying out a few ideas that we reckon people will love,” explains Valerie as the sign outside is being firmly secured. “Being from across the water, I love the traditional New York deli – so, that’s one side of the business.

“Adding to that, there’s a shared passion for Acai bowls, so we’ve got a whole range of yummy combinations, such as mango and dragon fruit, coconut and kiwi with honey, wild berry, banana, strawberry, chia and chocolate drizzle.

“And because we’re gluttons for yummy things, we’ve also come up with some cool drinks, such as iced Rosé matcha, iced whipped honey lattes, The Bomb Smoothie, plus lots of iced teas and 100% fresh lemonades…

“All the stuff, basically, that we love, all in one place.”

Which would explain the two titles above the door – New York Eats and Chill’d.

Determined to go with the flow of what people love the most, James and Victoria will be letting Greystones’ latest chomping ground evolve organically over the coming weeks.

Once they find their feet – and the rest of us find out new favourite eats – we’ll be swinging by to chat to the town’s latest foodie fanatics…
