The Jacksmill Forest Garden is located just off the N11 at Junction 13.

It is set in a small farm that has diversified into allotment gardens, remote working offices and creator studios. We have planted to date nearly 5,500 fruit berry and nut trees in a planned biodiverse landscape.

This is a unique project in Ireland that focuses on biodiversity, soil fertility and food sovereignty whilst accommodating individual food production and leisure for people living in the North Wicklow area.

The 7-acre Forest Garden hosts 32 standard sized Allotments, 12 large family size allotments from 200m2 to 300m2 and Re-Wild Wicklow’s Nursery HQ.

The standard allotments are ideal for a two people who wish to grow their own food and spend time in a rich biodiverse landscape. It allows plenty of space for all types of growing. And the annual cost is just €250.

Our larger plots are aimed at families or individuals who wish to have that bit extra in terms of space and flexibility. These are designed to house a growing area, play and leisure area, area for garden shed and/or a polytunnel. The garden can be used to enjoy a unique natural environment free from noise and man-made chemicals.

Each large allotment is surrounded by a purpose planted hedge made up of native berry fruit and nut planting. Annual Cost varies depending on size.

We supply a rich source of compost and wood chippings to help with your growing needs. We control plastics and imported compost and manure sources.

Whilst the user is free to garden how they wish, we do not allow the use of pesticides and strongly encourage the No-Dig principals for weed suppression and reduced maintenance and water usage. It makes your allotment plot a lot easier to manage and enjoy.

The garden boasts a range of sculptures and a sense of well-being and community. If you love your food and a unique natural environment this is for you.
