Greystones Does The Time Warp. Again.

onight at The Whale, it was all about the hips. And the lips. And leaving feck all to the imagination.

Yep, when The Rocky Horror Picture Show landed in cinemas in 1975 – just two years after it had debuted on the West End stage – no one could have guessed that this tongue-in-both-cheeks science-fiction parody musical would go on to be one of the most-loved cult classics of all time.

This is the film, after all, that ran at Harold Cross’ Classic cinema for 35 years. And every Friday, people dressed up in all their finery and slutery, so they could do that Time Warp again and again. And again.

And Greystones joined in the fun with The Rocky Horror Picture Party, a hairy and somewhat scary Halloween fancy dress special with all sorts of guys and ghouls coming out to play.

With the finest monster mashes known to man and beast playing over the sound system, Father Brian on hand to take your confessions, and Majenta the maid ready to try some new sins, the scene was set for the spookiest, grooviest Halloween freakout in town.

Hard to know who looked the finest here tonight, but, it’s pretty impossible to beat 12 nurses  who tell you that, tonight, anything and everything is, eh, pulseible. Yowsa!

And if you’re looking for something for the slightly younger freaks and geeks, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is screening on Halloween day at 2pm. Boo!
