t’s a busy Thursday down at Beautyful By Jenny on Church Road.

Then again, it’s been a busy three weeks, ever since the bould Ms Murnane decided to fulfil a lifelong dream and open her own beauty salon on Greystones’ main street.

That decision was made, it has to be said, over a few glasses of wine whilst out on the town, on the very same main street.

“It feels like it was only yesterday when I decided to take this leap,” says Jenny today, as we wait for one of her handy brothers to swing by to plumb in the new sink. “It feels like one long, crazy weekend, but in a very good way.

“This is truly a dream come true. And I pinch myself every single day when I come through that door…”

That door is situated by Bochelli’s, Jenny taking the second floor prime spot recently vacated by wandering artist-about-town Tom Byrne. And heck, you wouldn’t know the place.

There’s even swanky new carpet on the stairs!

Despite the three-week turnover from idea to reality, Jenny has actually been plotting her day in the Greystones sun for 15 years now, having spent two years tucked inside Blacklion’s Curves before handing in her badge to raise her then 10-year-old son.

“And now Dean’s all grown up, and pushing me out the door,” smiles Jenny. “He’s delighted for me, as I would tell him growing up, hey, if a spot ever came up in Greystones that I could call my own, I’d jump…”

With that long-awaited grand opening happening on Monday, July 17th at 7.30pm (with free Prosecco agus nibbles!), Beautiful By Jenny will then be beautyfying Greystonians inside and out from Tuesdays to Saturdays, details below.
