t may have taken a long and winding road to get here, but there’s no doubt that 
the shiny new Greystones Community National School down in Charlesland has made up for all that lost time.
Finally opening its doors in September 2021 after years of dodgy builder shenanigans and delays, this much-needed addition to the town has since gone from strength to strength. And the success of Principal Rory Kinane and his motley crew in that regard was very much in evidence today, as the school held its official launch party.
The choir, led by Ms Sheekey, brought everyone close to tears with their rousing rendition of the school anthem, and a finale featuring a very special message for everyone who had helped make the dream of Greystones 
Community National School become a reality.
And when it came to the official cutting of the ribbon, that honour fell to the oldest and the youngest pupil in the school.
Including, as always, our no.1 roving snapper, the mighty John McGowan, who swung by this morning and got pretty close to 100 groovy shots of the big day…
