Today, Wicklow Fine Gael Minister Simon Harris is delighted to announce that the new public streetlights in Kilpedder have now been switched on.

After months of intensive work with both Wicklow County Council and the ESB, Minister Harris was delighted to see Kilpedder now lit up.

Speaking today, Minister Harris said, “After months of working with Wicklow County Council, the ESB, and intensive community engagement, I am delighted to announce that the newly constructed streetlights in Kilpedder have been connected and switched on.”

“For a long time now, the lack of public lighting posed a real danger to pedestrians and motorists alike, with the area covered in pitch darkness during the winter months, until today.”

“Although this been long overdue, I want to commend local residents and members of the community for never giving up and relentlessly pushing for improvements to public and pedestrian safety.”

“It is great to see these lights on before the shortest day of the year, and I know they will be a reassuring addition for all those living in Kilpedder,” Minister Harris concluded.
