ake a good look at these four chancers – look them straight in the eye – and ask yourself, would you let them put you in a locked, darkened room…?

Well, surprising as it may seem, many, many Greystonians already have.

Having launched last October, FourFront Games hit the town gunning with The Hillside Haunting, an escape room that gave those brave enough to enter 60 minutes to get the hell out through a series of puzzles and challenges. And from its opening day on October 6th, 2017, The Hillside Haunting creaked and shrieked to the sound of hearts pounding and heads spinning, with quite a few smart locals making good their escape in record time.

It all started when best friends Mary-Kate Hardy, David Bridgeman, Ciara ‘Peek-A-Boo’ McCoy and Colm Egan headed off to Prague on holidays, and found themselves trying out an escape room for a laugh one afternoon. Once outside again, the four decided to cancel all sightseeing plans, and do it again tomorrow. And the next day. And once more, before heading to the airport.

And it was there that FourFront Games was born, the four puzzle-loving buddies pooling their talents to create The Hillside Haunting. Which is back this month, new and improved, whilst a brand new creation, The Interrogation Room, will offer participants a very different kind of scary delight.

And you can find out just how scary and how delightful at the gang’s grand opening this Saturday, July 14th, at their new Hillside HQ, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. There’ll be free food, drink, puzzles and, hey, prizes. Solve the Mystery Puzzle, and get 20% off on the day. Make it through the Mini-Escape, and you’re in a draw for free entry to The Interrogation Room. 

Designed for 2-to-6 people, this live-action challenge demands teamwork, creative thinking and problem solving in order to escape before the 60 minutes are up. And, no, you can’t bring a chainsaw. Another happy joint venture with The Whale, it costs €30pp for groups of two, €25pp for groups of three and €20pp for groups of four or larger, and you can find out more on the Fourfront Games website here.
