Anyone involved in charity or community work in Greystones will probably know Mike Fisher.

The man is always there, helping, carrying, caring, joking, or just making someone feel better.

The man has been volunteering for everyone from the cub scouts to the RNLI for over 60 years now.

Be. The. Jiggers.

It’s specifically for his work with Wicklow Dementia though that Mike has been nominated for a Charity Impact 2018 award. Having signed up as an Alz Pal in 2013, becoming a companion for a person with dementia, whilst also organising three social clubs in the area too. Is it any wonder that Wicklow Dementia Support put the man on their management board…?

So, go give young Mike a vote, this gentle, giving giant of Greystones well-deserving of a major slap on the back. And maybe even a celebratory drink. Or two.
