place so famous, it even had its own postcard, The Wicklow Arms is about to rise from the ashes once again.

Which is good news for the incredibly spoilt people of Delgany, and maybe even Lucy Mary Dann.

Having just been bought by a family from the village – who, for now, would like to remain nameless – the plan is to restore The Wicklow Arms to its former glory. And that means not only a fine ground-floor lounge but also the return of that once-hopping restaurant around the corner, plus, once the tender has been sorted, another restaurant upstairs serving top-notch food. Just like Milla used to make.

The car park will remain too, despite the soon-come construction of those swanky new retail units and 12 town houses behind the main building.

All going well, this 163-year-old establishment should be alive and kicking once again by the summer.

Give or take the odd dodgy builder.
