ith the finals for this year’s Miss Ireland just around the corner, Miss Wicklow Becky Johnston has been having a few friends around to celebrate.
By having a rather colourful and slightly surreal tea party.
And this wasn’t just any old cuppa gathering – this was all about raising awareness for Variety, the children’s charity helping families and communities all across Ireland.
Appropriately enough then that a child should be guest of honour at Becky’s tea party, namely her groovy nephew, Bradley. The Parkview Hotel in Newtown were kind enough to sponsor the afternoon delight, with tea and nibbles for all the family and friends who came along for the party.
Those attending include Becky’s mum Donna, dad Paul, little sister Emily, little brothers Aaron and Jake, Brady’s parents Susan and Derek, along with friends Ciara, Caoimhe, Conor, Keeks and Little Holly.
“My whole family and a bunch of friends got involved in dressing up to make the day extra special for Bradley,” says Becky, “and to ensure that he would be comfortable in his costume. Bradley’s mum and dad have had a challenging few years, as their little boy has severe autism, so, it was great for us all just to get together and have this wonderful afternoon for him…”
