aving enjoyed a successful trial run last Christmas, local artists have now set up permanent shop over in Newtown.

Situated at The Square, this is a truly independent gathering, with everything on offer handmade.

And from the heart.

Here’s ringleader Tamara to explain the who, what, where, when and how of The Collective…

The idea behind our pop-up shop is to give local artists a platform to showcase and potentially sell their creations. It’s been a touch year and a half without the usual markets and shops where we would normally sell our goodies.

This is all about self-sufficiency. For example, we are powered by a solar panel as we do not have electricity (where there is a will there is a way), and we use no plastic, plus very little packaging, to help preserve this lovely world of ours.

Everything is handcrafted by very talented local artists – and all we need now are customers.

Everything we make its a one-off creation and we love taking commissions. Each of us can create something bespoke and tailored to the customer needs.

We are 13 local artists from the area, and we are open Wednesday to Saturday. There’s also a craft morning every Thursday from 10am to 12pm in the square (weather permitting).
