The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be marked in Delgany this coming Sunday when the Carmelite Sisters host a special mass in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To give the lady her more famous moniker.
Happening at 9.30am on July 16th, Fr. Vincent O’Hara O.C.D. Prior of Avila will be the celebrant, and, as always, everyone is welcome.
Worth noting, the solemn liturgical feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was probably first celebrated in England in the later part of the 14th century. Its object was thanksgiving to Mary, the patroness of the Carmelite Order, for the benefits she had accorded to it through its difficult early years. Just in case you were wondering.
