s work on the new marina boardwalk gets underway, those at the Greystones ends of The Cliff Walk are currently having to take a little detour.

A little detour that takes them through Marina Village. And straight past Jake McClean’s front door.

Ask any smart tycoon, and they’ll tell you that it’s all about supply and demand. You supply thirsty hiker after thirsty hiker streaming off The Cliff Walk with a nice, cold drink of home-made cucumber & mint water, and – BOOM! – you’ll quickly find yourself in demand.

Throw in some healthy bars, and you might just be looking at the very first steps of the new Happy Pear.

Not that young Jake is interested in making a mint out of his mint. The lad is more concerned with raising some moolah for a St Catherine’s Special School, which his groovy little sister, Jess, just happens to attend.

With mum, Claire, nearby, we caught up with Jake this afternoon, to find out what sparks Greystones’ brightest young entrepreneur, and how his dad, Robert, planted this particular seed…
