Camper van fleet
“To date, there has been no such area for people with campervans leading to use of public parking spaces along the seafront in Greystones or the Irish Rail car park.
“It’s important that we have an official designated site, close to the town as holiday makers arriving in campervans bring a lot of money to the area. It’s good for local business as well as for the recreational value of Greystones and Wicklow.

I had a walk along the Marine Road last night around 9 o’clock and counted 8 campervans.
It really did resemble a camping site.
Such a pity. I sincerely hope that they will be moved on to a designated camping site with all the necessary facilities.

Just read this now in the Greystones Guide. This is great news!
Well done to you Jodie for getting this up and running.
Greystones is much in need of a “proper” designated camping ground.
Last night around 7pm I took my usual walk along the seafront and there were at least 6 campervans parked along the Marine Road. It actually looked like a camping ground instead of the most beautiful scenic road in Greystones.
What a shame!
Those bylaws definitely have to be changed!
Keep up the great work!!
Well done to all concerned we love to stay overnight eat out and shop
Thank you Jodie for all your hard work and effort with this. A designated campground would indeed be a huge bonus to our camping tourists visiting Greystones and is badly needed. Hope the plans go well for the Co. Council. It really is just a matter of having water and sewer availability for hook- ups; two areas that the Council has the most expertise in and should be easy to resolve. I think the area by the Park and Ride would be very suitable and so convenient to downtown/beach as it is in walking distance. Maybe Greystones will be the first place to cater to campers and other towns will follow suit?
Fantastic news. I am not from your constituency but would love to visit in my motorhome. As it is quite a distance from me I would stay a minimum of 3 nights to make it worth the travel. I spend on local products, sights, activities and restaurants wherever I go as I save money on accommodation so can afford to spr3ad out my spend locally. I only like staying in designated places so I hope I can add Greystones and Wicklow to my places to visit soon.
Overall I think Wicklow is in need of this type of tourism all over our beautiful county. Organised parking is better for everyone, and stops the contention between visitors and residents.
