This is an annual event, where the Irish and English champions play one another, the two countries alternating hosting duties. And this year, naturally, young Nolan won, beating his opponent 2 & 1 to claim the cup.
Artisan golf has a long tradition, being initially an opportunity for working class people to join in on the game. Today, the Irish Artisan Golfers’ Association has over 600 members, with many of its players going on to forge major careers, including Malahide’s Craddock brothers.

I was a caddy on greystones golf club from 1951 until the summer of 1958. the caddy master/club professional was a Eddie Martin. Chrisie Martin was the catering manager her daughter Madge Martin worked with her they were all related.
Jimmy Martin was Eddy’son and he played in the Ryder Cup. they all played a big part at that time in the running of the club.
