Sunday, June 27th 2016 was a big day for Éire Óg Greystones GAA Club.
For that is the day their Under-14s were crowned the Féile 2016 All-Ireland Champions.
With the John West Féile Peile no nÓg being held from June 24th to 26th, this Club festival for Gaelic football and Ladies Gaelic football at Under 14 level involved teams from across the Association, and were held in Kerry, West Limerick and West Cork.
Today, Sunday 26th, was the Cup and Shield semi-finals and finals. And our boys walked away with the top prize of All-Ireland Champions, the Greystones captain Eoin O’Neill lifting the cup for the town.
The final score was 1-08 to 0-04, and the greatness of the GAA gougers is that, a thorough search of their Facebook page and the main Éire Óg website still doesn’t reveal who the hell the lads were playing. Fionnaur. We reckon Eoin says North Dublin in his acceptance speech video, but, not entirely sure…
Big congratulations nonetheless to the Under 14s, and to all the Greystones Éire Óg GAA Club players who competed over the weekend.
