Don’t be fooled by that forlorn look in the eyes, the sad sack face, or the sucking in of the tummy to try and reveal some ribs.

This is Stitch, the Greystones Sailing Club’s mascot, and he’s been a very naughty boy.

A very naughty boy who’s becoming an increasingly chubby little boy.

Turns out, our boy Stitch loves chips. And chicken wings. And burritos.

And being based at the Greystones Sailing Club, he knows where to find them, with Joe Sweeney’s chipper just a stick’s throw away, and The Burrito Box in The Boat Yard just across the road.

Well, Stitch’s owner, Caroline O’Rourke, has decided that the chips are down, and this lad needs his chicken wings clipped, and his burritos well and truly boxed.

Hence the Scarf Of Shame that hangs around Stitch’s neck, as he goes from chipper to chorizo, with that hang-dog look on his face.

If you meet Stitch out on one of his begging runs, ignore those pleading eyes, that poor-pitiful-me kisser, and those barely visible ribs, and slip him a Happy Pear Lentil Curry Bon Bon. 

That’ll teach the greedy little fecker…
