t might just be the coolest looking building in all of sunny Greystones’ main thoroughfare, and one that makes for a perfect welcome sign.

Which makes the bullish-verging-on-bullshit moves by Wicklow County Council to remove the outside benches at Mooch – which sit inside their property line – all the more baffling.

But, hey, that’s a post for another time. For today is Mooch’s big birthday, with an afternoon spent celebrating one year in the grooviest town on de planet. 

Having somehow made the inhabitants of this town, and our many, many visitors, that little bit cooler, thanks to their ferociously yummy selection of frozen yogurts, Mooch is, even after just 12 months, very much one of the family now.

With goodies such as free toppings, face painting, groovy sounds and spot prizes this afternoon, it’s clear that owners Declan and Suzanne not only have buckets of feckin’ style, but they’re also pretty darn generous to boot.

Who else has thought of providing free Mutt Mitts, to help Greystonians clear up after their dogs? And their drunk friends.

Which is why they’re two of GG’s favourite people around here. Heck, this happy, loving couple make the neighbouring Flynnstones look positively Siberian.

Open until 10.30pm each night – now, that’s the way to finish a date – Mooch have all sorts of groovy specials about to be unleashed on us lucky Greystonians. In the meantime, we caught up with Suzanne and Declan to find out how this past year has treated them. As they treated us.
