It was beginning to look like Greystones and the South Beach had had some kind of falling out, given the distinct lack of sun worshippers enjoying its recent summer delights.
Indeed, there were days that GG and Max strolled by to see far more birds than people basking in the sea breeze.
Well, today, finally, the South Beach began to get a little sand kicked around, as local families began to trust that notoriously shy Irish sun. And the idea that it might stick around for more than 10 minutes at a time.
The weather over the past few weeks has been pretty close to glorious, and perfect for us pale-skinned Greystonians to soak up some sun, sea and sand.
Here’s hoping that little fireball continues to grace us with its presence over the coming two or three months, and we can all start to party like it’s 1995 all over again. Or 1983. Or – gulp! – maybe even 1976.
So, if you’ve got the time, and the togs, get out there, and use it. Before, you know, the snow returns. In August.
