ncredible to think that Fossett’s Circus is 138 years old, and still going strong.

And it’s still being run by the Fossett family, now in honour of not only much-loved matriarch Herta, who passed away in March 2024 at the rip old age of 92, but also long-time ringleader Marion, who passed away this month.

Life on the road clearly agreed with these remarkable women.

Now run by Herta’s son, Edward, the Fossett family played a major part in Ireland declaring the circus an art form back in 2003. And former trapeze artist Herta – who married Teddy Fossett in 1958 – was given a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 by the Circus Friends Association.

So, let’s just say the Fossetts know what they’re doing. For 138 years now…

Returning to Wicklow this month, you can catch Otto and the rest of the gang at the Ashford roundabout from Wednesday, June 17th to Sunday 21st.

The timetable is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7pm, then 2pm and 5pm shows on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.

There are discounted tickets online on all seats for all shows. So, book early.
