Just, you know, make sure you’re not up Bray Head without a paddle, as the tide takes you to the Koo nightclub.

One of the many clubs down at Greystones harbour offering you a chance to float away is the kayak gang, and we got in touch with organiser Alan Smullen to find out more…

As you are probably aware, we have run a kids kayaking night on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the last number of years. This year we had a lot of interest from adults, so we decided to run additional kayaking after the kids classes for adults.

We currently kayak on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 7.45pm and 8.45pm. It costs €10 per night – kayak and paddle included. Participants must have there own buoyancy aid. Wetsuits are optional, but at this time of year, not a requirement.

We have about 14 adults signed up at the moment and interest from others. We will continue to run these classes until the end of August.

On the kids kayaking front, the summer terms cost €100, with the 2019 season already booked out, and bookings for 2020 starting in the new year.
