s the first of the two new small wooden sculptures comes into view on Church Road, making your way up the hill from from St. Patrick’s Church, it would be easy to think that you had wandered into Groundhog Day, and were now at Gobblers Knob.Â
Take a closer look though, and it’s a lone mushroom, standing proud.
Could this little tyke be waving to the other members of his family, further on up on the left-hand side of the road?Â
There you’ll find mama mushroom and her two little offspring. And they’re all beautiful to behold.
Shame then that, by March 2016, a quick outbreak of Dickus Fuckus Maximus Assholius, the threesome on the left was reduced to the stump on the right.
Still, there will always be those who can find beauty all around them, and by June 2017, someone had converted the one remaining phallic beauty into, well, a phallic beauty that might just have caught a rare and exotic STD. Anyone for a little, eh, spotted mushroom? We’ve included that racy new look below…
But, hey, the moral of the story is, when God, or the council, gives you chopped trees, make little sculptures out of the stumps. Here’s to more street art around the town…
Now, go check out the history of Church Road right over here.
