ounded in 1974, the Greystones Bridge Club is a haven for those local clever clogs who are just that little bit cleverer than the rest of us.

Naturally, having a club is all about safety in numbers, especially with those Greystones Sailing Club bullies roaming the harbour nearby.

The centre on Victoria Road was built in 1992, after a bright idea by Eoin Mac Neill was turned into a reality through a whole plethora of fundraising events.

There are seven bridge clubs using the centre – Coolagad Bridge Club are there Monday nights, Rathdown on Tuesday mornings and Sugarloaf on Tuesday nights, Three Trout on Wednesday mornings, Greystones on Wednesday nights, St Crispin’s on Thursday nights and Errigal on Friday nights.

There are also bridge sessions on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings without a club being involved, and bridge lessons are available on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10am.

New members are most welcome but must be “A” grade or better and have to join the Greystones Bridge Centre as well.

Closed Season
For the period September to May, there is usually a teams competition once a month. Members may bring a guest during this period but only on a non-competition evening.

Greystones Open Cup
The Greystones Open Cup is generally held on a Sunday (2 sessions) at the end of March.
