Greystones Gets Its Own Love Island

After three sell-out productions over the past year, it’s understandable that the Greystones Players just wanna have some fun in the sun in this glorious weather.

And so, after last May’s debut with Dancing At Lughnasa, Connections in November and the recent The Playboy Of The Western World, the drama gang are going to deliver a multitude of sins, songs, sand, sun and silliness with Summer Shorts.

Exactly what will feature in this line-up of mini-comedies, mini-musicals and mid-summer madness is yet to be revealed though, founder Aideen Walton and the gang believing it best not to unwrap so many surprise presents until the big day.

There are two big days, in fact, Summer Shorts playing The Whale on Friday, June 22nd and Saturday 23rd. Given that every single show the Greystones Players have performed thus far at The Whale have all sold out well in advance of opening night, well, you might want to grab your tickets for this daring delight right about now. Especially given that they’re just €12 each.

In the meantime, we caught up with two members of Summer Shorts‘ 17-strong cast, John Mardirosian and Joanne O’Shea, to try and wiggle even a little information out of them about what is in store for Greystones. We can’t be sure, but we think we may have spotted Aideen on a nearby roof. With a rifle.
