s a child growing up on a farm in the French countryside, Violine Deane would always collect treasures from nature.
Now, as a mum living in Greystones, that tradition continues, aided and abetted by Violine’s three young boys.
And the results can be seen – famed and framed or as a piece of bespoke jewellery –Â in the unique handcrafted sea glass and pebble art of Violine Sea Craft.
“As the daughter of an artist,” explains Deane, “art and nature have always been part of my life. And to go from that farm life to living by the Irish Sea, I’ve now realised that nature has endless variety when it comes to colours, textures, shapes and even sense memories. All my creations are made using natural material found along Greystones’ seafront, and for the last fifteen years, it’s been such an inspiration for my creations…”
And so, with buckets of found sea glass, sea pottery and seashells as well as armfuls of driftwood, each of Violine’s creations is truly a one-off. And, as you can see here, truly beautiful.
The perfect gift for anyone with a love of nature – especially, that glorious sea – you can also commission a personalised work to mark your special occasion.
