Greystones Long Distance Swimmers and Gavin Glynn Foundation Swim Team members were out on the water recently training and completing some significant swims.
Greystones to Wicklow Swim
On Sunday 14th June swimmers Catriona Bradley, Oonagh Morrissey, Linda Clarke and John Ryan completed the 20km swim from Greystones Harbour to Wicklow Harbour, supported by Tony Harbison, Sarah Louise Brown, Paul Evans and Ian McCann. The swimmers all completed the swim in under 4hrs 30mins.
Bray to Greystones Swim
On Saturday 20th June swimmers Aisling Garland, Ger Devin, Sarah Louise Brown, Ruth Maher and Dave Smyth completed the 8km swim from Bray to Greystones South Beach and were supported by Ian Mc Cann and John Ryan on kayaks. The swimmers all completed the swim in under 1 hour 50 mins.

Fastnet Rock Lighthouse Swim
On Sunday 21st June Conor O’Brien successfully completed the 21km swim from Baltimore Co.Cork out to the Fastnet Rock Lighthouse in a time of 5hrs 17mins (this is unofficially the fourth fastest time in history for this swim). This was Conor’s longest open water swim to date. Conor was supported on the day by Cliodhna Coyle and Kelly Admirand and the Fastnet Swim team on board Radiance piloted by Kieran Collins.
