Youth Café’s Jolly July

Wham, BAM! Thank you, Sam!

reystones Youth Café down Trafalgar Road sprang back into action in 2025, thanks to the arrival all the way from New Zealand of the groovy Samantha.

And since then, there’s been a fair bit of shaking going on down de town for our beaten generation, with workshops, life lessons and chill outs on a daily basis.

Or thereabouts.

Greystones Youth Café is based on Trafalgar Road, just up from the Greystones Marina, designed for the town’s young folk to relax, meet others, and see what life is like off-screen.

And Sam has been busy putting together a rather funky July timetable for the café. 

For July and August, they’re open Tuesday to Friday 11am to 5pm (11yrs+) and Friday evenings, when over 14s are free to practice being undeniably cool young adults from 7pm to 9pm.

And for the merry month of July, their timetable is…

⦿ On Wednesday 1st and 15th, outdoor games from 2pm to 4pm, meeting at the café.

⦿ On Friday 3rd from 2pm to 4pm, there’s a Paper Art Quilling workshop, with Lucy from Spark Real Joy revealing the methods behind the madness that is, yep, paper art quilling.

⦿ On Thursday 9th from 3pm to 4.30pm, it’s Lego, baby! There will be a know-it-all guiding you through some new ideas when it comes to building wild creations and, yay, friendships.

⦿ Crochet Corner is happening 7pm to 9pm on Friday 10th, 17th and 24th of July, plus August 7th and 21st. You can bring your own projects, or just start something new, with helpers and equipment available.

⦿ On Tuesday 14th, Jimmy Myler from RNLI will be hosting a Water Safety Workshop at 11am, giving advice on what the drowning chain is and how to break it, understanding cold water shock, how to stay afloat and call for help, etc.

⦿ There will be a beach cleanup on Wednesday, July 29th at 2pm, meeting at the café before heading up the North Beach.
