ith Met Éireann’s yellow warnings coming fast and thick over the past few weeks, it’s not all that shocking to see yet another two pop up on our radar early this morning.

What is surprising though is that it’s all about a visit from that rarest of Irish mythical figures, The Sun.

There’s a yellow warning for high temperatures from 12pm Tuesday 23rd to 9am on Friday 26th, whilst from 12pm Monday 22nd to 9am Friday 26th, it’s a yellow advisory.

For the yellow warning, it’s maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C combined with night-time minima in excess of 15°C expected. The potential impacts are water safety issues due to increased use of lakes and beaches, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and heat stress.

With the same potential impacts, the yellow advisory from Monday to Friday notes exceptionally warm weather will occur over Ireland this week. Daytime temperatures will exceed 25 degrees, with temperatures possibly reaching 30 degrees on Thursday. Very mild, humid and possibly uncomfortable at night as temperatures will generally stay above 15 degrees. Thunderstorms are possible also, particularly on Thursday.
