hey’re a ridiculously happy and devilishly giddy bunch down at Little Stars On The Lane…

And sure, why wouldn’t they be, given that amidst all the toys and treats for the kids they look after, they’ve also got The Coolest Mini-Bus Carrier In De World.

Today though, that’s not the only thing that has founders Ciara and Kara and their giggling army smiling brightly. Little Stars have only gone and won the Prestige Ireland Award for Preschool Of The Year.

Which, given that there are more creches, montessori and preschools around here than coffee shops is one heck of an achievement.

“The award is in recognition of our fantastic team,” says Ciara, “who are committed to each and every child in their care. Being part of the lives of our little ones is such a huge privilege, and we at Little Stars love to watch them develop and grow with us.”

Yowsa! No wonder they won. It all started many years ago with buddies Kara Gargolinski McAlister and Ciara Watson opening Naíonraí, their Irish language preschool, and its sister preschool, Global Garden, in the Kilian House Family Centre. Hugely popular, the schools steadily grew into Little Stars On The Lane, Kara pointing out that, from the start, they wanted to “place kindness and nurturing care at the heart of everything we do”.

We feel a song coming on. Today, that means the kids at Little Stars enjoy coding, baking, ballet, arts & crafts, singing, games and beyond, whilst also learning French, German, Spanish and Irish, and taking music lessons next door in Harmonics Music School.

“We’re just so grateful to those who have helped Little Stars in winning this award,” finishes Ciara. “In no small part, Ross McParland and his team on Theatre Lane have been wonderful in building such a vibrant and supportive community of businesses.
