Show bringing together the finest equine beauties Wicklow has to offer.It helps too, of course, that the day also includes a dog show, music, games, crafts, sheep trials, alpacas, classic cars, the Stedfast Brass Band and, most importantly, lots of yummy food stalls.
Held at the Enniskerry Horse Farm in Monastery, by kind permission of Mary and Syl Fenelon Bourke, this year’s outing was blessed with some fine sunny weather.
Once the morning rain fecked off, of course.
And given that those competing range from as young as 3 years old up to whoever can still hold onto the reins for more than two minutes, even the competition themselves are designed for the whole family.
From the lead rein classes to the junior riding classes and on to the working hunter, performance hunter, Irish draught, the challenging pairs riding and clear round jumping classes, plus the ever popular carriage class and the fancy dress pony and rider class, sure, it’s no 
wonder the MC was a little horse by the end of the day.

Meanwhile, show president Harry Williams – who has been a committee member since the show started 52 years ago – says, “Although the show has evolved over the years, I am delighted to see that it still remains a true to its roots of being a community day out that allows us as a committee to raise funds for so many wonderful charities. 
It makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
