Organised by the Greystones Family Resource Centre’s Women’s Group, the first of hopefully many Tea Dances was held over in Kilcoole on Friday afternoon.
With the mighty Joe Bollard whipping out his organ for all the ladies present, the afternoon saw plenty of action on the dancefloor.
Taking place in The Mill Room of Byrne’s Pub, many of the usual suspects were there, including that Bradshaw one, and the notorious Gloria Barry, but, thankfully, the afternoon passed without cause to call the gardaí.
On the dancefloor, meanwhile, it wasn’t so much hip-hop as hip-op.
Admission was a mere €5, for which you not only got to hear those hard rockin’ Bollard beats – no-one does Firestarter quite like Joe, not even The Prodigy – but also a seemingly endless supply of tea and cakes.
Sure, what more could you ask for of a Friday afternoon. In Kilcoole.
Thanks to young John McGowan for catching all the hot and heavy action of the day…
