The great thing about Killincarrig is the simple fact that it has hardly changed over the years…

Scratch that, it’s hardly changed over the centuries, with only the names over its one pub and its two business premises changing over the years.

We may no longer have O’Brien’s or Clarke’s, but the buildings are still there, and The Orchard Inn looks pretty much the same as the first day it opened.

We’re pretty sure it’s the same wallpaper in the bar too.

The only casualty is The Orchard Tea Rooms, but, hey, perhaps Cottage Flowers can start serving coffee along with the carnations.

Another aspect of Killincarrig that hasn’t changed over all these years is the community spirit, as we witnessed today on our morning walk.

The Hayden ladies, Annie and Susie, were there with the bould Charlie, making sure that the flower beds around the village were summer ready.
