ou can tell from the moment that you walk into Sheena Griffin’s new Cherry Lane photographic studio that the woman loves her work.

It’s not only up there on the walls, with all those beaming, happy faces – from proud parents to ridiculously serene and smiley babies – but it’s also a joy that seems to be bouncing around these rooms.

Of course, much of that joy is coming from the lady herself, this professional photographer clearly having found her home-away-from-home when she stumbled upon this beautiful Killincarrig hideaway.

Just up behind Cottage Flowers, and nestled beside Michael Hayes’ famed framing service and the soon-come new residents Mookie & Boo, this restored 400-year-old cottage used to be part of the self-proclaimed Famous Cherry Orchard Tea Rooms sprawling acres. Heck, we even found the old post sign outside. And now it’s a thriving little hive of artistic activity, a neat retreat, a chance for those with ideas and imagination to meet.

They’ve also got tea. And coffee. And treats. Boom!

Having turned professional in 2015, opening her first-ever studio over in Kilcoole that April, Sheena is launching her great, big, beautiful Cherry Lane HQ on Saturday, June 9th, with one hell of a party.

And sure, you’re all invited!

Not only will there be face painting (by the lovely Mary-Kate), a big bouncy castle and games for the kids, but, for the adults, Mia Parsons will be soft-rockin’ the house whilst alongside the goodie bags and spot prizes, there’s the grand prize of a 1-Hour Family Portrait Session & Luxury Signature Frame to be won on the day. One lucky person at next Saturday’s big launch will walk away with this €670 kick-ass package absolutely free. Nice.
