Young Liz Power has been in touch, about a novel fundraising event that has seen our local RNLI come out €1,000 richer.

Which is always a good thing, given that they, you know, save lives around here.

Roundwood Model Aero Club recently held an auction of radio-controlled model aircraft, raising €1,000, with all proceeds going to Wicklow RNLI Lifeboat.

The organiser, Tony Noonan, himself an enthusiastic modeller and long time supporter of the RNLI, raised over €800 with the balance being generously donated by the Roundwood Model Aero Club committee. The club, based near Roundwood village, is host to radio controlled model aircraft flyers as well as a growing number of model yacht racers.
