It’s the country’s first sustainable paper-free cup, and naturally, The Happy Pear lads are fair leapin’ for joy about it.

And being the earth-loving happy hippies that they are, the Flynnstones would appear to have even come up with their own freestanding, free range and organic cup holders too.

Launched by the Irish global packaging solutions company Zeus, these Treefree Cups are unlike any other compostable cups in that they contain absolutely no paper product. 

And to add to the good work, the cups and lids will be collected by Zeus for composting after use, making the Treefree Cup the most sustainable single-use cup available in this country.

One of the first retail brands to stock this fine product, you’ll find dedicated Zeus bins at all three of the Pear’s outlets.

Shout-out too, to Café Gray, who have now starting stocking their very own completely-compostable takeaway cups.

Boom! We’re getting there. Now, if only we could find a way to ban the small plastic bottle – a ridiculous convenience for a lazyass generation – we might just be able to restart the evolutionary clock.
