You know how it is, your kid is finished their school day, and that incredible, inquisitive mind of theirs is hungry for more.

More learning, more climbing, more creating, more team work, more colours, more challenges, more FUN!

Well, you’re in luck, because we’re chock-a-block with groovy after school activities around here, from gymnastics to gaining confidence, from art to swimming, from nature treks to rugby, from languages to football, and on, and on…

We’ll be adding to this list of post-school bell goodies over the coming weeks, but, for now, there’s already something for every kid who’s keen to leap and learn outside of school hours…

Oh, and let’s not forget about those groovy pre-school options, with the likes of Knockeevin, Global Garden and Nexus giving our little ones some crucial early learning, bonding and fun.

Given that it’s actually called The After School Club, we have to give a shout-out first to Kerrylee and the gang down on Theatre Lane first, whilst GG newcomers Champs Academy are all about building your kids confidence skills, so they can truly enjoy this remarkable world of ours.

There’s also West End regular Sarah and her Bradley Theatre School, every Sunday morning at The Whale, with singing, dancing, eh, thesping and beyond for tots to teens.

If your kid has the ability to bend over backwards when it comes to pleasing that performance bug, Sugarloaf Gymnastics is the perfect stage for them, whilst The Goode School of Dance has been getting young ballet dancers on the good foot for over a decade now.

Oh, and how could we forget the award-winning, stick-spinning, always-grinning Greystones Baton Twirlers!?

When it comes to languages, the town is well served by a smorgasbord of fine teachers who know the fine art of speaking in other tongues, including Georgia Gallagher’s Greystones Languages For Children, Sinead McKeever’s Spanish-orientated Little Lingua, Orla Mulhern’s au pair-orientated Perfect English School, and Evan Furlong’s Chinese Studies For Kids & Teens. The latter also has a free online tutorial happening right now too.

If sport is more your kid’s kick, there’s fun and football skills to be found at the Legends Soccer Academy, whilst Greystones United AFC will always find space for another player at their vast Woodlands HQ. There’s also the Greystones Rugby Club and Éire Óg Greystones GAA Club, who are constantly active, of course. The feckers just never tell us about it.

For the young ‘uns, there’s also Rugbytots, every Saturday until October 21st, Fitcrew’s Personal Development Camps For Kids, and the Greystones Swimming Club every Friday night in Shoreline.

And how can we forget the mighty Squirrel’s Scramble in Kilruddery, making survival in the great outdoors a truly thrilling adventure?! Just check the season. And the weather.

For the art-loving kids, there’s Me And The Moon every Wednesday at the Kilian Family House Centre, Artzone every Wednesday at Shoreline and Fridays in St Laurence’s, and the Schoolhouse For Art in the heart of Enniskerry.

With new youth clubs planned for the upcoming Charlesland development as well as part of Coolnagreina on Trafalgar Road, right now, there’s a Boys Youth Club on Thursdays and a Girls Youth Club on Fridays at the Greystones Family Resource Centre.

There’s also, of course, The 1st Wicklow Scout Group, The Girls Brigade, and the Greystones Harbour Sea Scouts.

As we said, will be updating this one on a regular basis, given just how much activity there is for the young ‘uns. Remember, the simple idea is to make them smarter, fitter, stronger and happier than you ever were.
