And now, over the weekend, these neighbouring beauties are going to be returned to their former twin glory.
With builders having pretty much lifted the entire facade of Nature’s Gold away today, a carefully-crafted reproduction of Leo Ireton’s neighbouring, slumbering shopfront is being constructed in its place.
Thanks to meticulous measurements having been taken of Ireton’s shop – which is still in its original shape, and with its original fixtures and fittings, from when it first opened its doors way back in 1900 – Nature’s Gold is about to become a mirror image of its neighbour once again.

Pure professionals, the whole job is going to be completed in three days. Give or take a couple of tea breaks.
We caught up with Leo today – as Nature’s Gold’s Caroline tried to hide in the background – to get a little history, and to talk about the importance of respecting the town’s past…
