ust as The Italian Scallion has a habit of winning Greystones’ Best Coffee each and every year, it would appear that the Molloys up Delgany way have now made the Greystones Best Eatery award their own.

For the third year in a row, The Bellevue Restaurant at The Horse & Hound has walked away with this coveted prize as the people’s reigning champion chomping ground.

And so it begins… 2022

“Each year we think, okay, we’ve had our glory,” says H&H supremo Mary Molloy, “people will vote for somewhere new this year…”

“Especially given that there have been quite a few new restaurants opening up,” nods Mark Molloy, assistant to the H&H supremo. “You look at The Harbour Kitchen, Caladh, Yamas – these are all wonderful new additions to the area.

“So, to win again, it is truly a thrill. It’s great to have so many people out there who took the time to vote for us.”

Both Mark and Mary are quick to give thanks and praise to those who have made The Bellevue such a popular spot.

From head chef Philip Moran and sous chef Erin O’Dwyer to Chef de Partie Don Jose, restaurant manager Mark Southcott and assistant manager Veronika Kostanyova, both Mark and Mary know it’s all down to teamwork when it comes to good food.

“It’s at the core of what we do,” says Mary. “With the restaurant and the gastro pub, food has become a central part of people’s social lives.

“Making sure everyone walks out of here happy and well fed is what we aim for every single day…”
