Almost gone, never forgotten…

ou can tell just how stoned a clientele of an establishment tends to be by how many umbrellas get left behind on an average week.

And you can tell just how old a clientele of an establishment attracts by how many reading glasses are left behind too.

Surprisingly, Ailbhe didn’t find any spare teeth as she began her big clean-out at The Hot Spot Music Club this weekend, as the town’s favourite place to hippy, hippy shake starts looking for a new premises.

Personally, we love the idea of The Hot Spot Pop-Up, with one-off nights at The Rugby Club, The Whale, etc.

In the meantime, there’s rock’n’roll memorabilia for sale, including those umbrellas and reading glasses along with a drum kit, a Marshall amp, a wobbly hat stand, lampshades, mirrors, trays, that Indian deity statue thingy and, of course, an artificial Christmas tree.

Ailbhe’s going to be down at The Hot Spot from 1pm, and is ready to haggle. Be warned – the lady has a taser.

The lady is also ready to give away quite a lot of glassware that has no chance of squeezing into her kitchen dressers.

So, head on down to The Hot Spot Music Club on Saturday, July 1st, and grab yourself a bargain.

And a little local rock’n’roll history into the bargain…
