he may have left her beloved Greystones over 30 years ago, but it’s clear that Eileen Hogan’s heart still lies in the town.

Or, at the very least, over by that dirt track along Bray Head.

Inspired by those early memories of growing up here, Out On Cliff Walk From Bray To Greystones is a forlorn Irish ballad that does exactly what it says on the tin whistle. “I spent my childhood walking the North Beach and The Cliff Walk,” the former St David’s pupil tells us. “Fabulous memories…?

Aiding and abetting the singer in her musical endeavours, backing band Clan happens to be something of a family affair, made up of Eileen’s husband and three adult children.

It was one of those children, Coleen, who shot the video for Out On Cliff Walk From Bray To Greystones at the end of March this year.

As to the 5-years-and-counting closure of her beloved childhood hike, Eileen – who now lives in luxurious Luxembourg – finishes by stating, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Peter Murtagh and the Friends of the Cliff Walk for their dedication, hard work and commitment to this cause.
