iven that we’re about to witness a Super Blue Moon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night, we thought we should go unearth an old GG mix for the occasion.

One that just happens to be called Blue Moon.

It’s a collection of classic love songs, most pre-rock’n’roll or thereabouts, and all pretty much timeless.

And most are delivered by serious contenders for Greatest Singer Of All Time, including Sinatra, Elvis, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Patsy Cline and Dinah Washington.

Also in there, like cuckoos in the nest, are jazz pianist Brad Mehldau and his take on Radiohead’s Exit Music, plus Steve & Eydie’s sublime take on Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun. Just to keep the under-80s happy.

All done in the best possible taste, and perfect for young and old lovebirds.
